Nazir Ali was an early Indian cricketer who played in two Test matches for India during the pre-Independence period. He was a right-handed batsman, fast bowler with right hand and an excellent fielder. He played in India's first Test match in 1932 at Lords' score of 13 and 6. He scored 1020 runs and took 23 wickets. His most memorable performance was against Yorkshire, when he scored 52 runs from India's 66 runs, with five fours and three sixes. Other batsmen failed to make more than three runs in that innings. He represented the country in the last Test in Madras against England in 1933-34. He played first-class cricket for 25 years and scored more than 35 and took more than 150 wickets at an average of more than 30 average. He also played for Sussex in England, he was the younger brother of Indian Test cricketer Wazir Ali. After partition, he settled in Pakistan and became a cricket administrator
